The son of a preacher, and the son of a classical piano player who was raised in a church that didn't use instruments! Go figure. He had to learn to sing a capella with his brothers, with a stern commandment from his father that there will be no secular music in this house. Fast forward to high school where he just started playing piano without lessons, an indicator that the gift was past down by his mother. " I was told that I would never make it in the music business, because living in Texas was technically no mans land for major record companies" well that turned out not to be true, because he was signed to both Elektra/Warner bros and EMI/Capital in the early 90's. As soon as his break came, there was a decision to make, raise your new born daughter and your step son, or go for the kill with your opportunity. As fate would have it, he chose his children over the business and walk away, never totally leaving the writing and performing aspects, but doing it purely for the love. Now after many years dormant in the music biz, Alxandr is back with new music, a new attitude and the freedom to get after it! The 1st single "Unpack" featuring Valerie Watson of Club Nouveau fame, is a mid tempo burner with a message. In verse 1 he sings 'Put your suitcase down, no need to check' em in cause your bags fly free with me" a parallel description of a woman with baggage that need not explain, because theirs no judgment here! The new single "So Good" is covered with intimate innuendo's over a island groove. The new EP "90'S R&b" will drop June 21st 2024, it will be filled with songs of love, and the beauty of being in love.
